Why Are We At War?

In the article “Public's Views of Afghanistan War Have Turned Sour”, it shows that after 9/11 that around 90% of America supported the war in Afghanistan, but now most Americans don’t want to continue fighting in Afghanistan. The reason why we wanted to go to war is because of the terrorist attack on 9/11. About 3,000 innocent Americans died in the attack. After the attack we wanted to find and kill the terrorist that planned this attack. The point of that attack was to try to scare Americans and to make everyone here go crazy. But instead it made us support our nation and to go to war. But now we want the war to end because some of us forgot why we are fighting. Some of us want the war to end because they don’t think that we would get any where from the fighting. But if we have all of our troops come home then that was just a big pointless war and the terrorist would become more powerful and start a war that is worse. So we have to keep fighting so that terrorist will no longer threaten us. I know that war is bad because of the killing but I think that we have to keep fighting until we are safe from terrorist threats.

After Reading “Why Should Your District Continue?” by Karl Fisch, I started thinking about how lucky we are to get an education here in America. Most countries don’t have good schools to go to and some don’t have any schools at all. Some Americans ask why we should learn and what is the point of getting a good education. And some people don’t like school because of homework and rules, but the countries that have bad schools or no schools don’t care about the homework and rules because they see how a good education could be. I think that the reason why Americans don't see how a good education could be is because we have so much here and countries without schools don't have as much as we do. Some Americans don’t see how important a good education could be and how it could effect their lives and themselves in the future. It is amazing of what a good education could do.
